About the juror

MIxed-media artist and Creative Director · Brooklyn, NY

Carrie Lipscomb is a Brooklyn-based mixed-media artist, creative director, and curator whose work is shaped by a sustained interest in art, design, materiality, and the natural world.

Her artistic practice focuses on the interplay between space, texture, form, and restraint. Working with found materials and pure geometries, Carrie encourages viewers to notice subtle relationships that might otherwise be overlooked: shifts in surface, proportion, repetition, color, and the tension between the organic and the constructed. Her artwork reflects many of the same principles that guide her work in design, distilling a composition to its most essential elements while allowing material, texture, and form to remain present.

Her curatorial interests extend this practice of close observation. She is particularly drawn to the ways artists interpret nature, biodiversity, color, and the environments we share. Through curation, she seeks to create connections between individual works and larger ideas about how we see, document, understand, and value the natural world.

Together, these interests form a multidisciplinary practice grounded in curiosity and a desire to create meaningful connections between art, design, and the world around us.
